MORRIS -- Morris shut down Benson's three-point shooting in the second half and went on to defeat the Braves 62-49 in a West Central South Conference game on Saturday.

Cory Hennen led Morris (9-2, 13-3) with 18 points. Lincoln Arnold was 6-for-6 shooting and also cashed 5-of-7 free throws for 17 points. Jackson Henrich pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds and also added seven points and six blocked shots.

Morris moved two games ahead of Paynesville (7-2) and Montevideo (7-2) in the win column in the conference race.

Aaron Lindahl scored a game-high 28 points for Benson (5-5, 8-8). He also had seven rebounds and five steals. Steven James led with nine rebounds.

The Falcons (6-4, 11-6) held off a second-half charge from the Eagles (3-7, 4-11), who cut a 50-35 halftime deficit to one.

ACGC's Joel Slinden scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Jordan Tanner finished with 20 points and 11 assists. Jeff Peterson and Mitch Tauer chipped in 13 points each.

Eric Paulson led LQPV with 24 points, including four 3-pointers. Chase Keimig had 18 points, Baxter DuFrane had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Tronn Tosel had 10 points.
