MORRIS -- Nathan Nietfeld scored his 1,000th career point and Jamison Wall drained six 3-pointers as Paynesville upended Morris 69-59 in a West Central South Conference boys basketball game Thursday.

Nietfeld made a free throw early in the second half to give him 1,000 points for his career. The game was stopped and Nietfeld was presented with the game ball. The forward, who finished with 16 points, now has 1,009 career points.

Wall finished with a game-high 22 points after nailing half of the Bulldogs' 12 treys. Paynesville (6-1, 7-5) made eight 3-pointers in the first half to gain a 37-32 lead at halftime. Tanner Wendroth added 13 points.

Chris Scott with 18 points, Jackson Henrich 17 and Lincoln Arnold 12 paced the attack for Morris (5-3, 9-4).

Aaron Lindahl scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Braves (4-4, 6-7). Brennan Kent added 18 points and Steven James had 11.

Tronn Tosel's double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds paced the Eagles (2-4, 3-8). Eric Paulson collected 14 points and made four 3-pointers, and Baxter DuFrane added 12 points.

Eric Brandon scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to keep the Thunder Hawks (6-1, 10-3) on top in the conference standings. Jeff Jerve added 13 points and nine boards and Brett Bergeson chipped in 10 points.

BOLD put up a fight in the Bird Island gym before being overtaken in the final minutes by the Falcons (5-2, 9-4).

The Warriors (1-5, 4-7) held a slim four-point lead at 5:00 but ACGC rallied for the five-point win.

Jordan Tanner, who led the visitors with 18 points, six assists and five steals, sank 8-of-10 chances at the line down the stretch. Jeff Peterson was next with 17 points, while Brooks Mauer and Kurtis Huisman each fired in 10 points. Joel Slinden added eight points and got six rebounds.

BOLD leaders were Trent Neisen with 20 points, Ross Nelson with 12 and Shawn Dollerschell with 11. Tyler Hebrink contributed nine points and nine rebounds.
