Boys Basketball: NLS rallies from 18-point deficit to clip Minnewaska

COLLEGEVILLE -- After playing a ragged first half in which it shot just 29 percent, New London-Spicer rebounded from an 18-point deficit at halftime to overcome Minnewaska 68-64 in a non-conference game played at St. John's University on Saturday.

Reserve players sparked the comeback. With four starters sittting on the bench to start the second hal, the Wildcats went on a 20-7 run in the first seven minutes of the second half to get back in the game.

The Wildcats made 53 percent (17 of 32) shots from the floor in the second half.

Minnewaska's big first half was fueled by 60 percent shooting (18 of 30).

Jay Moten had a pair of layups in the final minute to seal the win for the Wildcats (12-5).

Erik Tengwall led NLS with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Aaron Johnson had 14 points and Moten 11.

Pierce Peters poured in a game-high 32 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists for the Lakers (6-9).

The Arrows shot a blistering 65 percent from the field. Bryce Beyers, Shelby Jones and Eric Stark had 15 points each for Pipestone (9-8).
