Boys Basketball: NLS tops Milaca in shootout

MILACA -- New London-Spicer's offense bailed out the defense in a 90-83 win over Milaca Thursday in West Central North Conference boys basketball.

The Wildcats (9-1, 12-5), the conference leader, allowed Milaca (0-9, 0-14) to tie its season high for points in a game.

NLS held a 49-38 halftime lead.

Aaron Johnson led 10 Wildcats in scoring with 29 points. Jay Moten, who made all three 3-pointers for New London-Spicer, added 17 points and seven steals, and Erik Tengwall had 10 points. Justin Zylstra collected eight rebounds.

Dawson-Boyd (7-7, 9-9) was unable to hold onto its 27-22 halftime advantage, scoring only 12 points in the second half.

Will Kurka led Minneota with 18 points and Tony Noyes added 13. They combined for 18 of Minneota's 26 second-half points.

Kruiz Lindblad was the lone Blackjack in double figures with 11 points. He also pulled down eight rebounds and made three steals.
