CLARA CITY -- In a matchup of state ranked teams in different classes, the Redwood Valley boys team used a physical, inside-outside game to defeat MACCRAY 79-59 on Tuesday night.

Redwood Valley (20-1) got 29 points and 8 boards from star Mike Busack.

Redwood Valley entered the game ranked No. 6 in Class AA while MACCRAY is the No. 6-ranked team in Class A.

"They're very physical," said MACCRAY head coach Gary Nelson. "They just came after us and we're not as strong as they are. Busack is probably the best player outside of the Twin Cities. We gave it our best shot."

Taylor Thissen led the Wolverines with 16 points and Brady Boike had 13 points and 9 rebounds.

The Wolverines finish the regular season against Lakeview on Monday. The game was scheduled for Feb. 20 but a postponed because of poor weather.

Scottie Stone scored 30 points for Melrose, and the Dutchmen rolled past New London-Spicer 72-51 in a West Central North Conference game Tuesday.
