OLIVIA — Down two at the half, BOLD caught fire in the second half, scoring 41 points and downing ACGC 67-53 in a West Central South Conference game Friday.

BOLD improved to 3-0 and won its first conference game while the Falcons fell to 4-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.

Nick Kubesh and Tyler Lothert played big roles in the Warriors’ victory. Kubesh had 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals and Lothert, who hit three 3-pointers, had 15 points and 6 boards. Trent Athmann finished with 13 points and 5 assists.

ACGC’s Taylor Larson scored 23 points and Brody Larson had 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals.

Colton Minnick played a solid game, with 10 points, 11 boards, 3 assists and a pair of steals.

Junior guard Aaron Ahrndt laced a trio of treys on the way to a 15 point night matched by senior center Jacob Goff, who also grabbed 9 rebounds. Zach Mauer also hit double figures with 13 points, plus 4 assists and 4 steals.

Sophomore center Eric Staebler had a good game for the Tigers scoring 15 points and collecting 19 rebounds. But the Morris/Chokio-Alberta shooting was off center, just 28 percent on 13 of 45 from the floor.

CLARA CITY — Bailey Boike and Carter Asche led the Wolverines to a Camden Conference victory in Clara City on Friday.

Boike had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Asche finished with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 blocked shots.

LQPV hit 10 of 18 3-point shots but struggled with other aspects, such as getting to the free throw line just six times while MACCRAY was making 21 of 25 foul shots.

LQPV’s Austin Haas hit a pair of 3s and scored 10 points and Noah Jensen had 6 points and 4 rebounds.

The Wolverines’ Tuesday game against Dawson-Boyd was rescheduled due to the Blackjacks’ run in the state football playoffs. MACCRAY plays next at Central Minnesota Christian School at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Prinsburg.

Colin Thompson, a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard, struck for 20 points leading three Jaguars in double figures. Griffin Schaub and Ian Engstrom each supplied 11 points.

James Faulkner topped the Saints with 15 points followed by Preston Mahlum with 12 points. Brody Lindquist nabbed 7 rebounds.

Thompson also generated 6 assists and 6 steals while Engstrom, a 6-3 junior forward, pulled down 10 rebounds.

Nick Benton double-doubled with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Brian Goodwin scored a game-high 22 points with 5 assists and 4 steals.

Billy Borgerding, Tanner Heinsius and Trey Heinsius also scored in double digits for the Jaguars, and Borgerding added 7 boards.
