ST. CLOUD — Litchfield bounced back from losing at the buzzer the day before by connecting on 12 three-pointers Friday to topple Pierz 56-47 in the consolation semifinals of the St. Cloud Cathedral Classic.

The Dragons improved to 4-4 on the season and will play for fifth place against Melrose (4-4) at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Cody Rau and Alex Hendricks made 4 treys apiece and Rau finished with a team-high 17 points for Litchfield. Hendricks followed with 14 and Dylan Kotzer 9 with help of a couple of three-pointers.

Aaron Weber made 5 three-pointers en route to netting a game-high 19 points for the Pioneers (1-7).

Marshall won its seventh straight after holding Montevideo (6-3) to just 37 field goal attempts. The Thunder Hawks fired at a 33-percent clip after making only 12 shots.

Dazhown Coleman had 11 points to pace the Thunder Hawks, who play Mankato East Saturday at 1:30 p.m. to wrap up their stay at the tournament. Jordan Thompson followed with 7 points and Spencer Hildahl hooked a team-high 6 rebounds.

Three players scored in double figures for Marshall, which shot 67 percent from the field, with C.D. Douglas and Riley Sharbono pacing the way with 16 apiece.
