BENSON — Montevideo played another solid game, offensively and defensively, and defeated Benson 56-39 in a West Central Conference matchup Friday.

The Thunder Hawks limited the Braves to just 1-of-14 3-point shooting and 32 percent shooting overall to improve to 7-2 in the conference and 10-5 overall.

Jimmy Haff played an excellent game, with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.

Jordan Thompson finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds.

Benson’s Jacob Goff had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Alex Forsberg came through with 11 points.

The visiting Wildcats found the Dragons’ Den to their liking Friday night — especially 6-foot-4 senior guard Michael Vigil who sank 8 of 9 three-point attempts for all 24 of his game-high 24 points.

Ryan Boll followed with 16 points as the Cats improved to 7-1 in the Wright.

Lucas Strand led the Eagles with 18 points and Kellen Kessler scored all 9 of his points from the 3-point line in a non-conference win over the Tigers on Friday.

Morris/Chokio-Alberta’s Noah Grove hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 19 points and Bryce Jurgensen had 11 points.
