Boys basketball roundup: SW Minn. Christian tops Dawson-Boyd

DAWSON — A strong second half helped Southwest Minnesota Christian thump Dawson-Boyd 72-51 Saturday.
SWMC, which lost to BBE in last season’s Class A championship game, ousted Dawson-Boyd from last year’s postseason in the Section 3A title game.
On Saturday, the Eagles scored 45 second-half points, outscoring the Blackjacks by 18 points and breaking open what had been a three-point game at the half.
Leighton Sampson led SWMC with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Klint Knutson had 15 points and Dominic Nibbelink had 14 points and 8 rebounds.
Dawson-Boyd’s Nathaniel Huot scored 10 points and surpassed 1,000 career points.
Joey Lee had 18 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds, and Michael Lee had 11 points and 11 boards.
