MORRIS — A couple of three-pointers to open the second half propelled Montevideo to a 68-44 West Central Conference win over Morris/Chokio-Alberta Friday.

The Tigers, who had won three straight, led 29-28 at halftime. But the visiting Thunder Hawks (5-1, 8-4) outscored MCA 40-15 in the second half.

Jordan Thompson drained five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points, as did Troy Diggins. Dazhown Coleman pocketed 8 steals as Montevideo shot 60 percent from the field while the Tigers were just 15-of-39 (38 percent).

Noah Grove’s four 3-pointers, 19 points and 4 assists, and Eric Staebler’s double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds paced the Tigers (1-5, 3-9).
