Boys basketball roundup: T-Hawks top MACCRAY

MONTEVIDEO — Jordan Thompson and Troy Diggins netted 17 points each and Montevideo drained 8 three-pointers as the Thunder Hawks toppled MACCRAY 58-43 in the season opener for both teams Friday.

The non-conference tilt had a three-point margin at halftime with the hometown team in front, but the Thunder Hawks turned up the defensive pressure in the second half, holding the Wolverines to 19 points in the half.

Thompson knocked down 5 treys and Diggins also supplied Montevideo 7 rebounds, 6 assists and a couple of steals. Spencer Hildahl pulled in a game-high 13 rebounds.

Bailey Boike scored a game-high 18 points and Carter Asche followed with 15 to pace MACCRAY. Boike also grabbed 10 rebounds. Asche added 6 rebounds and 3 blocks, and Jacob Aviles had 9 points and 3 steals.
