Boys basketball roundup: Warriors fight off CMCS

BIRD ISLAND — BOLD rode a 41-point first half and took a non-conference win over Central Minnesota Christian 60-37 on Friday in Bird Island.
Trent Athmann led the Warriors (5-7) with 11 points and drained three 3-pointers.
Tyler Rock had 9 points and 4 rebounds, and Tyler Lothert tacked on 8 points and hit 2 treys.
Lucas VanEps scored a game-high 12 points for the Bluejays (4-6) and had 3 assists.
BOLD next plays host to Minnewaska on Thursday, while CMCS will host Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Tuesday.

Benson (2-10) led majority of the first half before held scoreless for the first third of the second half as the Tigers (9-2) took control.
Austin Dierks’ double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds ignited Morris/Chokio-Alberta. Dierks scored 13 points in the first half and had 8 offensive rebounds. Also scoring in double figures for the Tigers were Chandler Erickson (12) and Jacob Torgerson (10).
Three Braves also scored in double figures with Matthew Ahrndt leading the way with 20 behind a quartet of three-pointers. Daniel Lee followed with 11 points and Colin Ose 10.
