Boys basketball: Wildcats thrash Bulldogs

NEW LONDON — New London-Spicer out-rebounded Paynesville by nearly double and coasted to victory over the Bulldogs 77-38 in a non-conference game Friday in New London.
The Wildcats (5-5) shot 46 percent from the field and controlled the ball well enough to take 63 total shots to Paynesville’s 37.
NLS got points from 13 different players, with Tyler Halvorson leading the pack with 12 points. Brett Olson was next with 11 points and 8 rebounds, and Aaron Ruter had 4 points and 7 assists.
Brandan Schleper and Andrew Topp paced the Bulldogs (1-7) with 9 points each.
