Boys Basketball: Willmar opens 2AAA playoffs today

The Willmar boys basketball team, given the No. 4 seed, hosts No. 5 Hutchinson today at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the Section 2AAA playoffs.

The Cardinals are 17-8 on the season after winning the Central Lakes Conference title outright last Friday. Willmar is 12-1 on its home court while Hutchinson (10-15) is 5-7 on the road.

The Cardinals beat Hutchinson 68-53 on Dec. 8 in Willmar.
