Boys Basketball: Worthington avenges loss to Redwood Valley

WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Trojans got 27 points from guard Travis Meinders and 22 more from 6-6 sophomore center Jalen Voss to topple Redwood Valley 76-72 in a dual at the top of the Southwest Conference on Friday.

It was the first loss in loop play for the Cardinals (6-1, 11-3), who tipped the Trojans 72-69 two weeks ago.

Mike Felt poured in 32 points and stabbed 13 rebounds for the visitors. Sam Knudsen added 11 points and six rebounds.

The game was tied 31-all at halftime.

Buffalo Lake-Hector's 28 first-half points were all it needed as the Mustangs cruised to pick up their 10th win of the season.

Andy Kalenberg had 20 points and Davis Fangmeier followed with 15 to pace the BLH offense, which shot just under 50 percent from the field. Joe Kubesh grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and Kalenberg yanked down 10 more.
