GLENCOE -- The Litchfield Dragons are a step closer to their first Wright County boys golf title since 2005.

With all six players shooting from between 77 and 80 at Glencoe Country Club Monday, the Dragons scored 309 to win the next-to-last meet.

Zach Whitchurch, Michael Waataja and Brady Meyer each shot 77 and Jordan Redepenning and Josh Polingo 78.

The Wright County finale is Thursday a Burl Oaks hosted by Mound-Westonka. The Dragons will go in with a 26-stroke cushion.

Monday at Osakis

BBE tied for top honors in the sixth of seven conference meets on Monday, but the Jaguars were unable to make up any strokes in the overall conference race.

BBE's Jackson Gregory earned medalist honors shooting 40.

The Jaguars shot 173 to tie CMC-leading Osakis, which maintains a 20-stroke edge over third-place BBE with one conference match left, today at Howard Lake. Second-place Rockford has an outside shot at tracking down the Silverstreaks, trailing by nine shots.
