Boys hockey: Alexandria shuts out River Lakes

PAYNESVILLE — After a scoreless first period, Alexandria’s Tom Schmidt scored the hat trick and Ryan Marciniak and Patrick Leary both found the net to lead Alexandria to a 5-0 Central Lakes Conference win over River Lakes on Tuesday.

Alexandria’s Ben Allen made 28 stops to record the shut out.

River Lakes goalie Charlie Skluzacek stopped 41 shots.

Alexandria improved to 5-1-1 in the league and 6-5-1 overall while the Stars dropped to 2-5 in the conference and 5-8 overall.
