Boys Hockey: Dragons fall on late goal


NEW ULM — Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato’s Aaron Haataja tied the game with a short-handed goal midway through the third period, but New Ulm’s Mitch Nied scored late in the period and it held up for a 3-2 victory on Saturday.

LDC’s Mike Spreiter scored the game’s first goal on the power play with assists from Ben Haugo and Kent Ryynanen.

Spreiter assisted on Haataja’s third-period goal and goalie Braeden Wahl made 34 stops.
