LITTLE FALLS - Morris/Benson Area suffered its first loss of the season Wednesday as the Storm fell 3-2 to St. Michael-Albertville in the semifinals of the Little Falls Invite.

The Knights scored twice in the opening period and struck again in the second period before the Storm (7-1) tallied two goals in the third period. The game's first four goals came on power plays.

Jake Erickson ended the Knights' shutout bid with a goal assisted by Carl Lindblad 2:41 into the third period. Mitch Kleespies netted the other goal for the Storm, who play in the third-place game today at 4 p.m., with 8:55 remaining.

Kurt Peterson scored on a power play with 1:38 remaining to give River Lakes (3-6) its second win in as many days.

The Stars got first-period goals from Josh Engquist and Zach Johnson and a quick second-period goal from Alex Naujokas to take a 3-0 lead.

Eric Prowker stopped 18 shots in the first period before finishing with 41 saves for River Lakes.

Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato (0-9-0) led 1-0 after the first period on Andy Gilbertson's goal, but the Dragons were outshot 34-18 and fell into the seventh-place game.

Tucker Osterberg tied the game at 3-3 on a power-play goal and assisted on the Dragons' other goals. Alex Euerle also scored on the power play in the second period for LDC.
