Boys hockey roundup: Storm rocks Prairie Centre

BENSON — The state’s top scorer, Tanner Picht, picked up his 11th hat trick of the season and the Morris/Benson Area Storm slugged Prairie Centre 9-4 on Thursday at the Benson Civic Center.
Picht scored the game’s first goal and added two more in the third period, and he also had two assists.
Teammates Mac Beyer and Corey Storck both scored two goals and Brody Gimberlin and Jordan Staples both had three assists.
Picht now leads Minnesota players with 47 goals and 80 points. Beyer has recorded at least two points in 21 games this season.
Against Prairie Centre, Andrew Rentz and Darion Helberg also scored goals — Rentz also had an assist — and Helberg and Riley Blake both had two assists. Lincoln Pahl also had an assist for the Storm.
Goalie Kyle Kennedy turned back 14 shots.
