WILLMAR — Hunter Mottinger scored twice and the Willmar Cardinals picked up their first Central Lakes Conference win with a 5-1 victory over Fergus Falls on Thursday in Willmar.

Mottinger put the Cardinals (1-6-1, 8-7-1) on the board quickly with a goal 3 minutes into the first period. Preston Peterson scored at 12:05 to give the Cardinals a 2-0 cushion.
