Boys hockey: Tigers eliminate Dragons

LITCHFIELD — Hutchinson’s Matthew Cowger had two goals and an assist, and the Tigers knocked off Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato 3-2 in the Section 3A quarterfinals on Thursday in Litchfield.
The Tigers (6-19) took the lead when Keegan Maceman, assisted by Cowger, put one in at 12:30 in the first period.
Cowger gave Hutchinson a cushion in the second, scoring at 0:40 and 3:04 to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead.
Ethan Niemela and Ryan Romanen scored later in the period for LDC to make it 3-2.
Braeden Wahl had 48 saves in the net for the Dragons.
LDC finishes it season 9-17 overall.
