Gure gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead at the half and they added two more early in the second.

Willmar closed the gap with goals from James Steer and Nick Courtney, but Apollo scored two more late in the half to seal the victory.

"Apollo's a very strong team this year," Cardinals' head coach Jeff Winter said. "What I really liked in the second half when we're down 5-0 at halftime, our guys decided they wanted to get back into it. We came out of halftime pretty strong and kept the second half even."

The Cardinals (1-3, 3-4) play Thursday in Willmar against Fergus Falls.
