Boys Swimming & Diving: Willmar's 7 wins not enough

ALEXANDRIA -- Willmar athletes placed first in 7 of 12 events but it wasn't quite enough to overcome Alexandria's advantage in depth in a CLC swimming and diving meet on Tuesday.
The home team clinched the victory when it outscored the visiting Cardinals 13-3 in the breaststroke, the next to last event, and finished with a 99-87 advantage..
Michael McLain swam to a pair of individual firsts and led off two winning relays.
Willmar went 1-2 in diving with Bennet Woltjer scoring 244 and Sam Murphy a career-best 235.
A.J. Derouin and Ben Fuglestad took first in the 200 IM and the butterfly, respectively.
