GRANITE FALLS -- Benson swept doubles to go with a straight-set win at 1-singles by Vince Smolders to take a West Central Conference match from Yellow Medicine East 4-3 on Tuesday.

Aaron Szczur/Chad Clark picked up the deciding point at 1-doubles, outlasting Carter Iverson/Brandon Repsher of the Sting 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 6-0.

Brandon Gosson/Tyler Bergman at No. 2 and Joe Melcher/Kyle Ruppert at No. 3 won their doubles matches in straight sets.

David Nowacki didn't lose a game at 3-singles, while Clinton Repsher at 2-singles and Ethan Ator at 4-singles also won in straight sets for YME.

New London-Spicer improved to 7-3 overall after Seth Nelson/Berett Steffen at 1-doubles, Doug Fortney/Elliot Eckhoff at 2-doubles and Tyler Havlorson at 4-singles all won in straight sets. The Wildcats' other point came at 2-singles when Cody Treptau outlasted Alex Carlbom 6-2, 4-6, 6-0.

Jesse Brace at 1-singles won in straight sets and Ryan Maroney at 3-singles and Kurt Baldwin/Blake Jorgenson at 3-doubles won three-setters for Montevideo.
