Boys Tennis: Monte overwhelms Benson

BENSON -- Montevideo swept three doubles matches and also won three in singles to down Benson 6-1 in boys tennis on Tuesday.

Thunder Hawks 1-singles player Jesse Brace defeated the Braves' top player, Vince Smolders, 6-3, 6-0.

Monte's 1-doubles team of Walker Danielson and Darin Stevens also won, 6-0, 6-2, over Corey Goff and Brandon Gosson.

Benson's lone point came at 2-singles, with Aaron Szczur and Alex Carlbom splitting the first two sets. But Carlbom had to withdraw in the third set with an injury.
