Boys Tennis: New London-Spicer drubs YME in opener

GRANITE FALLS -- Jackson Wright at 1-singles led a New London-Spicer sweep as the Wildcats tumbled Yellow Medicine East 7-0 on Tuesday in a West Central Conference match.

It was the season opener for NLS after having its first five matches postponed. YME dropped to 0-2.

In a match at 4-singles that last two hours and 45 minutes, Alex Springman tipped Cameron Zens 7-5, 6-7, 6-2.

With the help of three wins in singles, MACCRAY (1-2, 1-2) picked up its first win of the season. Mitch Kremin (No. 1), Mike Ammermann (No. 2) and Tanner Brouwer (No. 4) all won in straight sets for MACCRAY in singles.

Lucas Doesken-Gavin Balderas at 2-doubles and Nick Kellen-Matt Gunderson at 3-doubles also won.
