Boys tennis: Wildcats top Braves

NEW LONDON -- On a chilly but sun-drenched afternoon, New London-Spicer and the Benson Braves launched the new season on the courts behind the high school.

The West Central Conference foes split singles points but the Wildcats reigned in doubles (36-7 in games) against the Braves pairs lineup made up of 8th- and 9th-graders and one sophomore.

Singles winners were Spencer Moller (1) and Bradley Berens (4) of Benson and Cody Treptau (2) and Tyler Halvorson (3) of NLS.
