Boys Tennis: Willmar ousted by Hutchinson
HUTCHINSON -- Top-seeded Hutchinson won six of the seven matches in straight sets en route to blanking Willmar 7-0 in the semifinals of the Section 2AA-South tournament Thursday.
David Skonard won the second set 6-1 in his 3-singles match for Willmar, but Jack Zheng then edged Skonard 7-5 in the third set.
Sam Murphy and Austen Hilding came close to winning another set for No. 4 Willmar, but they lost a tiebreaker in the second set at 3-doubles.
The individual tournament is next Saturday at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
