United FCS members receive $4.8 million
WILLMAR -- United FCS is distributing $4.8 million in cash patronage -- a return of a portion of the association's net earnings -- to eligible customer-members. The distribution is due to strong operational performance in 2008, said Marc Knisely, United FCS chief executive officer.
The distribution paid to customers puts the combined total patronage to more than $58 million since United FCS was formed in 2002.
Knisely said sound operating practices have well positioned the association to meet the challenge of increasing risk associated with the global economic situation and volatility affecting certain agricultural sectors.
United FCS has corporate offices in Willmar and is part of the National Farm Credit Service, which has supported farming and the rural area for over 92 years.
United FCS provides loans, leases and financial services to over 4,400 customer-members in 10 Minnesota counties of Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Meeker, Redwood, Renville, Swift and Yellow Medicine and customer-members in 12 counties in north central Wisconsin.
WILLMAR -- Celeste Sellner has joined Hair Designs, 1809 First St. S., in Willmar as a stylist.
Sellner started in February. She attended Ridgewater College in 2004 and has been in the salon industry for five years. She specializes in designer cuts, fashion colors and men's crew cuts. She took advance cutting classes from Pivot Point in October 2008. She lives in Clara City.
