WILLMAR -- Dr. Susan Cassatt, a licensed psychologist, has joined the Willmar office of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. She is a licensed psychologist specializing in work with children and families in behavioral and emotional issues, testing and evaluation of learning issues, and developmental concerns from preschool-age through high school age. She previously worked at Woodland Center in Willmar.
BELGRADE -- Brittney Degner has assumed a new position as retail banking coordinator at the Belgrade office of North American State Bank. She previously worked as a personal banker at Wells Fargo in Willmar. She studied accounting at Ridgewater College in Willmar.
Degner grew up in the Spicer area and lives in the Spicer-New London area and has a 4-year-old son.
WILLMAR -- Dustin Kotrba and Christina Parsley have joined the staff at Christianson & Associates of Willmar.
Kotrba is a staff accountant in the audit and accounting department. He graduated with a degree in accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead and has five years of experience in private industry in the agricultural field.
Parsley is a staff accountant in the audit and accounting department. She graduated this spring with degrees in accounting and finance from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
ATWATER -- Ryan Buer of Atwater has started Ryan Buer Electric, LLC. His phone number is 320-894-0287. He is a 2003 graduate of the electrician program at Ridgewater College in Willmar. He grew up in Atwater and previously worked with Dwaine Buer Electric and Wayne Brogren Electric.
Tom and Amy Powell, owners of LRC in Spicer, have received the 2009 Partners in Conservation Award from the U.S. Office of the Interior. LRC, an earthwork contractor, accepted the award on behalf of engineers, consultants, contractors and government agencies responsible for the Missouri River Bank Stabilization project near Vermillion, S.D. The project, completed in 2008, will help protect and preserve the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System, which provides water to a three-state area. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said 26 teams received the award for efforts to conserve and restore landscape, help wildlife thrive, address water issues and forge solutions to complex natural resource challenges. LRC joined the project in October 2007 and Tom offered input on riprap placement, planting of willow poles and upland seeding.
Charles Munsch and Ben Munsch, financial representatives with the Kandiyohi County Area Associates of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, have qualified for Thrivent's Sierra level for 2008 achievements by demonstrating outstanding sales and service to members. They are with Thrivent Financial's Central Minnesota Regional Financial Office and provide financial guidance and solutions to achieve financial goals.
