Estrada opens Hilda's Salon

WILLMAR -- Hilda Estrada announces she has opened Hilda's Salon, 407 Litchfield Ave. S.W. in Willmar. The business opened Dec. 4 and she does family haircuts, perms, color, highlights and has accessories for sale.

She is a 2006 graduate of Minneapolis Barber School and is a 1999 graduate of cosmetology school in Chihuaha, Mexico City. She has previous experience at Great Clips in Edina. She lives in Grove City with her husband, Jesus Estrada, and three sons.

Bender joins Tastefully Simple

WILLMAR -- Jen Bender of Willmar has become an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct sales company featuring more than 60 easy-to-prepare foods.

As an independent business owner, Bender offers delicious food samples at home taste-testing parties, along with easy ideas for everyday meals, recipes, serving suggestions and fun.

All of Tastefully Simple's products are open-and-enjoy or can be prepared by adding only one or two ingredients.

Ridgewater to host health care career event

WILLMAR -- Adults interested in learning about careers in the health care field are invited to a two-day career exploration event called Adult Scrubs Camp on Jan. 5-6 at Ridgewater College in Willmar.

Attendees will have the chance to talk with health professionals and participate in simulations in the areas of dentistry, medical records, alternative healing, nursing, pharmacy and clinical laboratory sciences.

The event is an opportunity for laid-off workers and individuals who want to change careers and learn about health care occupations in southwest Minnesota.
