New director named at

Rice Regional Dental Clinic

WILLMAR -- Dr. Linda Jackson, DDS, has been named the new director of the Rice Regional Dental Clinic.

As director, Jackson is responsible for the operations, direction and supervision of clinic administration, patient care and teaching in community health and rural dentistry. Through a faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, she will supervise the work of dental hygiene, dental therapy and pre-doctoral students and coordinate rotations for students, residents and visiting faculty.

Jackson began her new position on July 6.

Jackson earned a bachelor's degree in biology at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill. She earned her doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Maryland Dental School and completed a general practice residency at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, Ill.

A career with the Indian Health Service, the federal health program for American Indians and Alaska natives, brought her to assignments in Oklahoma, Michigan, Arizona, New Mexico and Minnesota.

Most recently she worked at the White Earth Health Center in Ogema as staff dentist and coordinator of the summer student externship program.

While in Detroit Lakes, Jackson initiated several community-based programs to promote dental health and provide dental preventive services, oral health education, cleanings, sealants and fluoride.

Jackson will move from Detroit Lakes to the Willmar area in the near future. She has a son, Eddie, a junior in college, and a daughter, Rose, a high school sophomore.

Hedman, Grube promoted to manager at CDS

WILLMAR -- Certified public accountants Jill R. Hedman and Patty K. Grube have been promoted to managers at Conway, Deuth & Schmiesing.

Jill Hedman joined the business in 1991. She graduated from St. Cloud State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and obtained her CPA designation in 1992. Her practice emphasis includes tax preparation and consulting and?estates and trusts.

Hedman is the treasurer of the Benson Kiwanis Club, serves on the board of directors for the Benson Library and is an upcoming board member for United Way of?West Central Minnesota. She is also a board member of her church trust fund and their youth activities board. Jill and her husband, Erick, and their two children reside in Benson.

Grube joined Conway, Deuth &?Schmiesing in 1997. She previously worked at a Fortune 500 firm in the Twin Cities. She graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in accounting and received her CPA certification from the Minnesota State Board of Accountancy in 1997. Her main practice emphasis is individual and business taxation and accounting and auditing for both governmental and private organizations.

Grube serves on the board of directors for the Benson Area Chamber of Commerce, and is involved with her local church and various youth activities including 4-H and Boy Scouts of America. She and her husband,?Brent, and their three children reside in Benson.

Both Jill and Patty are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Halbe joins

Olivia office

of United FCS

OLIVIA -- Pat Halbe recently joined United FCS as a vice president for financial services in the Olivia office. He will be serving the business needs of agricultural producers and businesses in Renville County by providing credit, financial services and crop insurance.

Halbe graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor's degree in ag economics. He has experience as an ag loan officer, seed salesman and crop/fertilizer consultant. He is relocating to the Olivia area from Windom.

United FCS is a member of the Farm Credit System, a nationwide network of banks and retail lending associations. United FCS has a primary focus in a 22-county service area in west central Minnesota and north central Wisconsin providing loans, leases and a wide array of financial services through twelve branch office locations and 175 employees.

Gehrke joins United FCS

as appraiser

REDWOOD FALLS -- David Gehrke recently joined United FCS as a senior certified appraiser. He has more than 30 years of real estate appraisal experience including many years with the Farm Credit System.

Gehrke graduated from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls with a bachelor's degree in agriculture. He also has achieved the accredited rural appraiser designation with the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.

Gehrke resides in New Ulm and will work from his home as well as United FCS' Redwood Falls office.
