Simons joins Paynesville Health Care

PAYNESVILLE -- Pamela D. Simons has joined the Paynesville Area Health Care System medical provider group and the Chain of Lakes Medical Clinic of Cold Spring.

Dr. Simons holds a medical degree and is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a graduate of Albany Medical College, Albany, N.Y. She trained at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center before completing her residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center and earned her undergraduate degree, along with an master's of business administration, from Cornell University.

She held positions in hospital administration, management consulting and comprehensive health planning. This varied health background is what motivated her to specialize in caring for women. Her clinical interests include adolescent reproductive medicine, pelvic pain, and diabetes and hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and gynecologic surgery, including laparoscopy.

Before joining Paynesville Area Health Care, Simons was a traveling physician in a variety of settings including California, Colorado, New Hampshire and Oklahoma. She joined Paynesville Area Health Care System because of the commitment to excellence and the strength of the medical team approach.

Geselius promoted at

Beet Sugar Co-op

RENVILLE -- Todd Geselius of Willmar has been promoted to the position of vice president of agriculture for the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative, it was announced Friday.

He will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the agriculture department in effectively managing all phases of sugar beet planting, production harvest and storage.

He will also work with various committees in developing agricultural practices and policies.

Geselius worked for the cooperative from 2003-2007 as an agriculturist. He rejoined in April 2010 as the director of agriculture.

Diederich is

WILLMAR -- Rachel M. Diederich recently joined Conway, Deuth and Schmiesing Administrative Services in Willmar as a third-party administrator. She has more than four years of third-party administrator experience working for Conway, Deuth and Schmiesing Administrative Services from 2000 to 2004.

She attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and received a bachelor's degree in business administration.

She lives in Willmar with her husband, Kyle, and their three children.

Jurek joins Bollig engineering team

WILLMAR -- Bollig Inc. of Willmar announces Paul Jurek has joined the company's engineering team. Jurek is a senior engineer with more than 13 years of state and county government experience specializing in planning, roadway design, construction and hydraulics engineering.

Starting with the Minnesota Department of Transportation in 1999, Jurek was lead senior design engineer for several District 8 projects including the state Highway 23 Paynesville bypass and the four-lane improvement and pedestrian underpass project in Marshall.

Also, Jurek was a MnDOT project engineer for the four-lane improvement and expansion of Highway 23 through Spicer and the four-lane expansion on state Highway 7 and 22 through Hutchinson.

Before joining MnDOT, Jurek was a Todd County engineering supervisor and a foreman at Master Construction in Fargo, N.D. He also worked for his family's construction utility business in central Minnesota.

Jurek attended St. Thomas University in St. Paul for pre-engineering before graduating from North Dakota State University in Fargo with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
