Decknatel directs nursing at Golden Living Center in Olivia
OLIVIA -- Wendy Decknatel has joined Golden Living Center in Olivia as director of nursing services.
Allen Barr, executive director of Golden Living Center, said Decknatel will focus on building community relationships, delivering the care and services the community deserves, and providing quality care to Golden Living Center residents.
A native of Belview, Decknatel earned her associate degree in nursing from Ridgewater College in Willmar. Also, she completed an associate degree in journalism through Ridgewater College and a bachelor's degree in literature and creative writing through Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
She has worked in the long-term health care industry since 1976 as a certified nursing assistant, licensed practical nurse and registered nurse and most recently was employed by the Clara City Care Center in Clara City.
She and her husband, Thomas, live in rural Sacred Heart.
Filipek to head member services for Willmar chamber
WILLMAR -- Jeff Filipek has been named director of member services for the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. He has been a consultant working with nonprofit organizations and assisting with board development and strategic planning.
Most of his career has been with the YMCA organization including overall administration for membership, capital campaigns, current and new program development, and education on YMCA mission and objectives. He acted as the site manager during construction of the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA and served as CEO from 1998 to 2006.
He has professional experience in volunteer development and committee work, member services, and marketing and engagement of community stakeholders.
Filipek's first day with the Chamber will be May 4. He will be responsible for coordinating general activities and managing volunteers, committees, and special events and projects. He will also be responsible for membership sales, committee management, networking and overall implementation of the Chamber's business plan.
