AgCode acquires Meristem Technologies

GLENWOOD — AgCode Inc. of Glenwood announces the recent acquisition of Meristem Technologies of Sonoma, Calif.

The merger brings the strong GIS functionality of the Meristem platform with AgCode’s iPad-driven platform that is an industry standard in payroll, harvest and vineyard management.

Meristem was formed in 2008 and serves some of the top vineyards and vineyard management companies in Napa, Sonoma, and the Central Coast.

AgCode Inc. was founded in 2002 and moved from the seed industry in the Midwest to a focus on vineyard data collection in 2003.

Mike Bobbitt, president of Meristem, will bring his 20 years of GIS mapping experience and vision for GPS and vineyard data collection to AgCode.

“Mike will be a key component to our California viticulture team and will provide the GIS vision for the AgCode data work flow that now includes components on the iPad, iPhone and Android,” said Dion Harste, president and founder of AgCode.

AgCode tailors mobile enterprise systems for several of the largest U.S. wineries, ultra-premium wineries and vineyard management sector.

The acquisition was financed in part by the West Central Initiative Fund, the Glenwood Development Corporation, and Glenwood State Bank.

ASB hires new vice president

GLENWOOD — American Solutions for Business of Glenwood recently announced the hiring of David Del Zoppo as vice president of finance and accounting.

Del Zoppo has more than 34 years of experience in public accounting, internal audit, operations and finance. Most recently, he worked with CliftonLarsonAllen, certified public accountants in the outsourcing services group, providing interim CFO services.

He has also served as CEO of a telecommunications provider and held senior management positions in the wireless industry. His industry background includes positions in manufacturing, software development, technology and wireless and traditional telecommunications.

He is a graduate of St. Cloud State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting. Del Zoppo will manage banking relationships, supervise the 29-member finance team, work to improve profits and cash flow, and function as a member of the senior leadership team.

ASB is a distributor of printing, promotional products, eCommerce, office supplies and strategic marketing solutions.

Krupa installs card-pay washers

WILLMAR — Myron Krupa, owner of Willmar Coin Laundry, 1402 Highway 12 E., announces he has installed four large capacity washers that accept credit cards or debit cards or coins.

He said washers will hold up to 80 pounds of clothes at one time and are excellent for sleeping bags, comforters and bed spreads.

Miller is Habitat coordinator

WILLMAR — Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota announces Tim Miller as sustainability coordinator, replacing Charline Bengtson.

Miller is responsible for setting fundraising goals and strategies and executing Habitat’s resource development plan.

Habitat works in Christian partnership to develop communities in need by building and renovating houses.

Miller lives in Prinsburg with his wife, Cherie. They have a blended family of seven children and four grandchildren.

Miller was raised in Streamwood, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. He attended the University of Iowa where he received a bachelor’s in psychology. He has lived in the region for 10 years and has approximately 12 years of experience in nonprofit development.
