Business fire causes $2,000 damage in Litchfield
LITCHFIELD -- Litchfield firefighters responded to a fire call Thursday afternoon at Premier Motor on Highway 12 near Litchfield.
According to a release from the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, an employee was working on removing a motor from a vehicle using a torch when he turned around and noticed that a fire had started. He said a gas tank on the ground behind him had ignited, and he pushed it outside the building to avoid further damage inside the building.
Employees began fighting the fire, and it was extinguished after the Litchfield Fire Department arrived.
Damage was estimated at about $2,000 to tires and vehicle parts that were involved in the fire. The building was undamaged. There were no injuries
The Litchfield Police Department also responded to the fire.
