District 13B covers Willmar and the southern half of Kandiyohi County. The seat is currently held by Rep. Al Juhnke, DFL-Willmar. According to a news release, Vo-gel has been in-volved with the Rep-ublican Pa-rty on a grassroots level for the 26 years.

He said his life experience -- from growing up on a family farm, to working factory jobs -- has given him valuable insight to represent the people of District 13B. As a small business owner the past 14 years, Vogel said he "has seen over and over that we the people know best how to spend our hard-earned money.''

He said he will take a firm stand against higher taxes.

"As we struggle to make ends meet and live within our own means, so should the government,'' he said.

Vogel also said he will work to secure equal funding for all schools, to uphold the sanctity of life, the strengthening of families and traditional marriage. He said he "is looking forward to the opportunity to represent the values and common sense philosophies of our rural area.''

Vogel and his wife, Jeanne, live just outside Willmar.

They have been married 27 years and have four adult children and three grandchildren.
