Calmer Deeney April 5, 1922 - May 29, 2009
WILLMAR -- Calmer John Deeney, 87, of Willmar, died Friday at Sunnyview Assisted Living in Atwater.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was born April 5, 1922, in Black River Falls, Wis., to Barney and Pearl (Smith) Deeney. He grew up and received his education in the Black River Falls community.
He worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps for a year and then worked as a farm laborer in Wisconsin. He then worked for the Johns Manville Company in Waukegan, Ill., and at other manufacturing plants in Chicago, Milwaukee, Wis., and Spokane, Wash. In 1960, he moved to Willmar and worked as a machine operator for Hanson Silo Company until his retirement in 1984.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
