The Canadian Pacific Railway line that shut down near Paynesville Monday is expecting to restart normal operations earlier than expected, according to company spokesman Mike LoVecchio.

After ten railroad cars were derailed Monday afternoon, railroad employees worked throughout the last two nights to clean up wreckage and reconstruct the track behind the AMPI plant.

Most cars have been removed from the site with a few that will have to be cut into pieces and hauled away, LoVecchio said.

Caution should be taken this afternoon as LoVecchio said the railroad will have extra trains traveling through due to a backlog caused by the derailment.

"Always expect a train," LoVecchio said. "There will be more than normal."
