Candidate forum in Benson scheduled Oct. 19

BENSON -- A candidates' forum featuring state legislative races and Swift County sheriff and commissioner races is being hosted by the Benson Area Chamber of Commerce.

It will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 19 in the Benson Junior High Auditorium, 1400 Montana Ave.

Invited legislative candidates include District 20 Sen. Gary Kubly, DFL-Granite Falls, and challenger Gregg Kulberg, R-Hector, and District 20A Rep. Andrew Falk, DFL-Murdock, and challenger Jay Backer, R-Graceville.

Invited county office seekers include county commissioner candidates Gary Klemm and Dennis DeHaan and county sheriff candidates Jim Crace and John Holtz. The first hour will be devoted to the legislative races and the second to the county races. There will be opportunities for audience members to pose questions to the candidates. The event will be broadcast live over KSCR Radio (93.5 FM).
