Car crash causes power outage

WILLMAR -- More than 800 customers lost power for about 90 minutes Tuesday morning after a car struck and broke a mainline power pole near the American Legion on 19th Avenue Southwest.

Willmar Utilities General Manager Wesley Hompe said the car hit the pole at 12:43 a.m. The pole is part of the main feeder line that serves portions of the Kandi Mall and the Skylark Center and First Street and residential areas west of Skylark and north of 19th Avenue.
