Cardinal mascot boyfriend makes proposal to girls basketball assistant coach in Willmar, Minn.

Willmar High School girls basketball assistant coach Sally Wilson received a surprise engagement proposal Thursday night from the school's Cardinal mascot.

Her boyfriend, Bruce Just of Omaha, took the floor in the Big Red Gym at Willmar High School dressed as the school's Cardinal mascot prior to the girls basketball game against Rocori High School. Then at mid court, the Cardinal mascot removed his mascot head, bent down on his Cardinal knee with a ring in hand and asked Wilson for her hand in marriage.

Wilson tearfully accepted the engagement ring.

Wilson will be leaving her teaching and coaching position at Willmar at the end of the school year and moving to Omaha. She plans to join Just in Omaha.
