MACCRAY submits single-campus proposal to state

Carlson catches first career touchdown pass in Notre Dame's win

John Carlson, a 6-foot-6, 254-pound redshirt sophomore from Litchfield, scored the first touchdown of his collegiate career Saturday, helping No. 13 Notre Dame defeat No. 22 Purdue 49-28 in West Lafayette, Ind.

Carlson caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Brady Quinn with 11:31 left in the game.

Carlson has four catches for 40 yards this season.

Notre Dame, idle next Saturday, hosts top-ranked USC Oct. 15 in South Bend, Ind.
