Caroline Johnson Nov. 20, 1925 - June 19, 2009
MADISON -- Caroline Johnson, 83, of Madison died Friday.
The service is at 10:30 a.m. today at Garfield Lutheran Church in rural Madison. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with Zahrbock Funeral Chapel of Madison.
She was born Nov. 20, 1925, in rural Canby to Anton and Ellen (Lind) Lundin. She attended school at District 37 near her home.
She married Clifford Johnson on Dec. 8, 1951. They lived on the family farm until her husband's death in 2005. She then moved to Park Avenue Apartments, Hilltop Apartments and the Madison Lutheran Home.
She was a Sunday school teacher, was active in circle at her church and was the mission quilt coordinator. She also worked for a time as a dietary aide at the Madison Lutheran Home.
She is survived by her two children: Peggy Nichols of Aurora, Colo., and Dale (and Betty) Johnson of Blaine; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters: Lucille Storlien of Dawson and Ruth (and James) McClure of Seaford, Del.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister.
