BENSON -- Carolyn Alva Lee, 74, of Benson died Sunday at Golden Living Center, Meadow Lane Healthcare Center in Benson.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Burial will be in Lake Hazel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Winthrop to Donald and Alva (Espenson) Larson. She grew up in Faribault and graduated from Faribault High School in 1952. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1956.
She married Wallace Lee on March 29, 1958 in St. Louis Park. She taught junior high home economics in Benson from 1956 to 1959, then worked in Dr. T.S. Eberley's office for several years. From 1984 to 2003, she owned and operated Interior Views in Benson. She was a member of the Zetetic Study Club, Fibrominn Citizens Advisory Panel, Swift County Humane Society, Fenton Art Glass Collectors of America, Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church Choir, Gamma Omicron Beta Foundation, Friends of the Benson Public Library, Swift County Benson Hospital Foundation, Benson Area Chamber of Commerce, Benson Area Community Foundation and Benson City Planning Commission.
She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Lee of Guelph, Ontario, and Scott (and Catherine) Lee of Benson; three grandchildren; siblings: Janet Larson of Edina and Matt Larson of Detroit.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991.
