Cartons will be accepted at Kandiyohi County recycling program
WILLMAR - Starting Nov. 15 milk cartons, juice boxes and wine boxes can be recycled in Kandiyohi County.
It was announced today that the county is expanding its recycling program to include refrigerated cartons, like those used for milk, cream, soy milk, juice and egg substitutes, as well as shelf-stable cartons like those used for soup broth.
The food and beverage cartons will be collected in the county's curbside recycling program that includes the cities of Atwater and Willmar, the rural recycling sheds and the Recycling Center in Willmar.
People are asked to remove the caps and place cartons in existing recycling containers labeled for paper/junk mail, magazines or paperboard.
The start of the program locally on Nov. 15 coincides with "America Recycles Day."
