Public can bid farewell Saturday to deploying Army Reserve members from Willmar detachment

LAKE LILLIAN -- Cecelia Erickson, 95, of Lake Lillian died Thursday at Central Minnesota Senior Care Home in Lake Lillian.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lake Lillian. Burial will be in Lake Lillian Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the KM Funeral Home in Lake Lillian, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour before the service at the church.

Memorials are preferred to Rice Hospital Hospice, St. Thomas More Church or to the donor's choice.

She was born Nov. 29, 1912, on a small farm south of Lake Lillian to Joseph and Anna Wallenta. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Bird Island and later trained to be a practical nurse. In her early years, she was a mid-wife for the births of many babies.

She married Raymond Erickson on Dec. 26, 1942, in Salinas, Calif. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her children: Cynthia Erickson Leigh of St. Cloud, Mary Erickson of St. Paul, Warren (and Patsy) Erickson of Willmar, Steve (and Shelley) Erickson of Spicer, Allen (and Raylene) Erickson of Anchorage, Alaska; son-in-law: John Weis of Elk Grove, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings: Bill Wallenta, Lucille Thode, Ann Lucille and Leona Olson.

She was preceded in death by one daughter: Carolyn Ann Weis; one brother; and four sisters.
