Fifteen brightly-painted Adirondack chairs were auctioned off Friday evening at the Glacial Ridge Winery between Spicer and New London with 90 percent of the proceeds going to the artist. Eleven chairs went for at least $500 dollars and three $1,000 or more: Ron Adams ($1,000), Victoria Holm ($1,100) and Violet Dauk ($1,200). The Tracy Lynn/Lori Martinek chair won the People’s Choice Award. Auctioneers Kristine Fladeboe-Duininck and her father Dale kept the bidding moving at a lighthearted but brisk pace before a lawn-chair crowd of over 200.
