Charles Weber Jan. 5, 1927 - Dec. 25, 2013
HAWICK - Charles Weber, 86 of Hawick, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Zion-Irving Lutheran Church in rural Hawick. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Charles William Weber was born on Jan. 5, 1927 in Paynesville, the son of Matt and Minnie (Eades) Weber. He attended Paynesville High School. At the age of 16, Charles enlisted in the US Navy where he served his country during WWII in the South Pacific. At the end of the war he was discharged and returned home until the Korean War when he enlisted in the US Army. He was honorably discharged on Feb 2, 1954. On Oct. 4, 1955, Charles was united in marriage to Anna Everson. To this union a son and daughter were born. They made their home in Hawick where he worked as a farm supervisor for Jennie-O. Charles and Anna were able to share in 49 years of marriage before her death on Feb 25, 2001.
Charles was a member of Zion-Irving Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, his dogs, spending time with his grandchildren and helping others.
Charles died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 86. He is survived by his children, John Weber of Hawick and Beth Tersteeg (companion, Clayton Daniels) of Hawick; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and brother, Gene (Mary) Weber.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; parents; and siblings, Cleona, Fredia, Ruth, Alice, Robert, Edward and infant brother, Terry.
